The Singapore government does not issue a "single status certificate." If you need to prove your current marital status (single or divorced) to authorities in China or other countries, you must prepare a complete set of notarized and apostilled documents. This guide explains the alternative solution in Singapore, required documents for both single and divorced individuals, and the full application process.
In Singapore, there is no standalone government-issued document to prove single status. Instead, the following documents must be combined and bound into a single notarized document, then apostilled for use as a complete proof of single status:

In terms of fees, Lervice has standardized the notarization process, so there is no need to pay high legal consultation fees. Charges follow a fixed pricing structure. Please contact customer service for a quotation.
1. Do I need to sign the declaration in person at a law firm?
No. Lervice will provide the template. You only need to sign it and send or deliver the original to us. No need to sign or swear in front of a lawyer.
2. How do I download the ROM no marriage record search result?
Log in to the ROM website (www.rom.gov.sg) using Singpass, search your marital record, and download the official PDF. If you encounter issues, our customer service team can guide you.
3. I am divorced. Do I still need the ROM search result?
No. Divorced individuals can use the final judgment of divorce instead of the ROM search result. Combined with the statutory declaration and passport, it forms a complete document set.
4. Are copies of the notarized document available?
No. Singapore notarized documents are issued only as originals, without duplicates. If multiple copies are required, separate orders must be placed. It is advisable to confirm the required number in advance.
5. How long is the document valid? Will China require it to be issued within 6 months?
The notarized document itself has no fixed validity period, but many authorities (e.g., marriage registration offices in China) require documents issued within 6 or 12 months. Please confirm requirements in advance.
6. I am overseas. Can this be handled remotely?
Yes. The ROM search result and passport can be provided as PDFs. The signed original statutory declaration must be couriered to our Singapore office. Once completed, we will courier the documents back to your address.
7. Is the process the same for countries other than China?
Not necessarily. Requirements vary by country, including document combinations, translation, and legalization. Please contact us with details of the destination country and purpose for tailored advice.
